Freelance PR consultant and writer Stephanie Renouf talks about her style inspirations

Why have you chosen these clothes for the photoshoot?
Everytime I wear this fabulous Desigual coat bought from Jarrolds in Norwich, not only do I receive compliments but I feel happy and buoyant. It is relaxed, funky and can be smart or casual, worn over a LBD or jeans and a white shirt as pictured. It really takes me everywhere.

Is this typical of your day to day wear?
Not typical, but the attitude is. I like clothes to be friends trustworthy and reliable and to say something about me. Gone are my black suit PR days always worn at presentations to let the colour of the proposals shine through! I feel comfortable in a more relaxed style of dressing and if its a day in the Suffolk Agricultural Association office I usually wear a dress and jacket or cardi.

If money was no object what would you wear?
My style would probably not change, but I would just love to sit on the front row of a Chanel or Armani show and be able to take my pick of their autumn winter collections as well as own a classic black and white Chanel suit. I covet a Valentino red full length halter neck dress although I cant imagine it as day to day on Walberswick beach! It might well be a Cinderella moment!

Whats the most outlandish thing in your wardrobe?
Im not really outlandish, but a wonderful girlfriend gave me her 1970s cream crochet dress which has only been worn to a party once its far too dangerous!

Where do you buy your underwear?
Some things other people do not need to know. But if you want to spoil a wife or girlfriend Collen and Clare in Southwold have a fabulous collection and Morgan is the girl to help you out.

Do you judge people by their clothes?
Not judge, Im not a terribly judgemental person. I like originality and self expression, so if someone chooses to do this by the way they look its fine by me. I sometimes wish people would just take a minute longer in front of the mirror to check the proportions of what they are wearing.

Do you have a style role model?
I think style is personal and individual and I love classic elegant looks with a bit of quirkiness thrown in. Grace Kelly and Julie Christie have to top the list, but the way Kate Moss puts clothes together is stunning. I also admire Joan Collins for keeping her neck covered scarves and chunky statement jewellery are the way forward.

What do you think of television makeover programmes?
Great for inspiration and after an exhausting days writing, we all need a bit of help and advice at times, and if there was no interest they wouldnt be screened.

Who cuts your hair and how often?
Either Nicola at John Oliver in Norwich who first cut my hair for me when we were both 16 when I can get an appointment or if Im in town its Debbie at Hair on Broadway in Baker Street who is great at 7.30am cuts!
I couldnt live without clever Trevor my colourist whose telephone number comes to the grave with me!
