Ed Sheeran’s influence on popular culture cannot be underestimated and now his hit song ‘Castle on the Hill’ has been immortalised in Lego by Witnesham resident Vibeke Flatman.

The song is about Sheeran’s life growing up in Framlingham and it achieved considerable success throughout 2017 as it amassed over 300 millions views on YouTube.

Featuring a section of Framlingham Castle, an intricately designed guitar emblazoned with his album logo and his ginger cat Dorito, it captures Sheeran’s connection to Suffolk.

Flatman, a landscape architect originally from Denmark, started the project at the start of February after her nine-year-old son James – an enthusiastic Lego builder himself – encouraged her to come up with something. Their proximity to Framlingham made Sheeran’s song the perfect subject matter.

The meticulous tribute has been uploaded to Lego’s ‘Ideas’ website where users can submit custom creations to be potentially turned into an official set.

To catch the eye of Lego, Flatman needs 10,000 supporters on her project and you can add your support through this link.
