Carolynne Wyper on why Fressingfield is her preferred corner of the county
I love the sense of community in Fressingfield, says Carolynne Wyper
Sometimes its good to get an outsiders view of a much-loved village, or someone new to the area. Carolynne Wyper came to live in Fressingfield with her husband six years ago. She loves the fact that everything she needs is here. I could quite easily not step outside the village for days. Fressingfield is the quintessential English village with the most beautiful church, pond along with ducks, moorhens, dragonflies, reeds and fish and we live within staggering distance of the best restaurant and bar in Suffolk, The Fox & Goose. We also have an amazing shop which stocks everything, you can pay your bills there, have your laundry and dry cleaning collected and delivered and meet the other regulars. The health centre is brilliant and we even have our very own bespoke potter who counts Nicole Farhi and televisions The Hotel Inspector, Ruth Watson, among his clients. Theres something to do each and every day from arts and crafts, keep fit, music and croquet we are in our third season and there are always lots of village events to take part in, whether its the fete, panto or fundraiser.
She continues: Everyone in Fressingfield was so welcoming when we moved here from London and my husband, our dogs and I really treasure the friends we have made. Whats great is that nobody cares what you have or dont have and the first question when meeting someone for the first time isnt and what do you do? So refreshing. Theres a true sense of community here, wherever you hail from.
