The Countrywide Great Tour - Suffolk

A 64-day cycle ride taking in the entire coast of Great Britain is coming your way - and anyone can get involved
Stage 33 of the Tour enters Suffolk on the 5 August after a ride from Burnham Market on the North Norfolk coast. The stage virtually hugs the coastline the entire route travelling past a total of four piers across various holiday destinations such as Sheringham, Cromer, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth with its long and sandy beach. Finishing the day in the small Suffolk town of Southwold with its prominent 125 year old lighthouse, and home to the Adnams brewery.
Almost the entire route of Stage 34 is contained within Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with an amazing variety of heathlands, estuaries, beaches, forests and farmland, the route will provide the riders with endless and breathtaking views not to mention an abundance of wildlife. Rolling into Ipswich on the banks of the River Orwell riders will surely have a smile on their face after a spectacular days cycling.
Stage 35 leaves Holbrook, on the outskirts of Ipswich, on 7 August. The route darts in and out of rivers and estuary that are high in numbers on this stage. Passing the Blackwater Estuary which has a real sense of coastal wilderness about it where oysters have been harvested for over a 1,000 years! Over the River Crouch and the riders will find themselves in the Essex seaside town of Southend-on-Sea, home to the world longest pleasure pier!
