With so much going on around Suffolk this weekend, it’s not easy to decide what amazing events you’ll be attending. Allow our handy guide to 5 things to do make that decision a little easier!

The Scarlett Pipistrelle – December 13 – January 19

Common Ground Theatre Company’s Christmas show, touring throughout Suffolk. The year is 1793. Paris is gripped by the sans-cullottes. Heads are rolling, and no-one is safe from the roving finger of fate, the thumb of tyranny and the wrist of injustice.

The poor Compte de Creme-Brulée has been hauled up by the Jacobins and is to be guillotined on the morrow. His only hope is a daring swoop by that dashing English master of disguise and echo-location, The Scarlet Pipistrelle.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe – December 13 – 24

The Seagull Theatre, Lowestoft, presents Glyn Robbins’ adaptation of the book by CS Lewis. Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy are evacuated from London during the Blitz to stay with the professor.

While exploring, Lucy stumbles across the wardrobe, a gateway to a magical world called Narnia.

Meet Father Christmas at Christchurch Mansion – December 15 – 16

The Big Man himself has scheduled in a stop at this popular Ipswich location and Suffolk’s young ones are invited to meet him this Saturday and Sunday. Santa will also be on hand to help the kids with craft activities and will get involved with singing lots of festive tunes.

Tickets are £5.50 and it runs between 10am and 3.45pm.

Christmas Craft Fair and Farmyard at The Suffolk Punch Trust – December 15 – 16

Santa has also decided to give his reindeer a rest and will be pulled into his grotto by a Suffolk Punch, after which you’ll be able to meet him in person. Last year the event was a sell-out so get tickets for the grotto early.

Entry to the craft fair and farmyard is free of charge.

Christmas Craft Market with Wilde & Greene Organic – December 15

Wilde & Greene have recently opened a new farm shop at Longwood Farm in Tuddenham and you’ll be able to sample what they have on offer at this one-day Christmas craft market. Other local artists and makers will also be attending to show their gifts and other craft items.

It runs between 9am and 4pm.
