Football fans will tackle their heroes from Portman Road at a special fundraising fixture in May.
West Suffolk Hospital Charity has teamed up with Ipswich Town Football Club to organise the special match which will raise money for the ITFC Academy and also the Hospital’s Forget-Me-Not Dementia Campaign, supported by the East Anglian Daily Times and the Bury, Sudbury and Stowmarket Mercury.
The Forget-Me-Not FC team was sold out within 36 hours while three people will also take their place in the Ipswich Town Legends squad for the game on Sunday 18 May at Bury Town Football Club’s ground at Ram Meadow.
At the time of going to press, the current Ipswich line-up includes John Wark, Simon Milton, James Scowcroft, Gavin Johnson, Kieron Dyer, Darren Currie and Alan Lee.
Tickets for the game on Sunday May 18 (kick off 3pm) will be available on the day priced £10 for adults and £5 for children. An auction, run by Edward Crichton from Bury-based Lacy Scott and Knight, will also take place after the match.
