Author events, book clubs, workshops and quizzes
Libraries across Suffolk are inviting everyone to get involved with their Brave New Reads programme.
Formerly known as Summer Reads, Brave New Reads is a guided reading programme taking place across East Anglia.
The programme, in its sixth year, has been organised by a partnership of the Writers’ Centre in Norwich, together with the library services of Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
Suffolk Libraries joined the project in 2014 and the new name came from Sophie Green, assistant manager at Woodbridge Library. Six of the books were chosen by The Readers’ Circle from a list of over 150 titles.
Brave New Reads runs until August 5 with a host of events including author events, book clubs, reading workshops, book quizzes and online resources.
Paul Howarth, stock manager at Suffolk Libraries said: “I hope the chosen books will offer people something different to read and encourage them to get involved with the programme.”
There will be a chance to meet the people behind the project, enjoy tea parties, pop-up book clubs, radio shows and more. Here’s a selection.
