Bedford Lodge Hotel

In the rush of today’s world, it’s more important than ever before to take time out of our busy schedules to reconnect and heal. In understanding the demands of work load, family life and social engagements, The Spa at Bedford Lodge Hotel has launched its new reflexology treatment in association with renowned reflexologist, Kerry Cole.

The Spa @Hintlesham The Spa @Hintlesham

Kerry said: “The health and wellbeing benefits that come with reflexology are unparalleled and with my expertise and experience, I’m confident that this treatment will bring a new dynamic to the spa as we begin to help people as much as we can on a much deeper physical and emotional level.”

Known to bring relief to a wide range of conditions, reflexology dates back 5,000 years to the Egyptians, and its practice has continued to evolve in one form or another across the globe, China, India and North America included.

The treatment itself focuses on areas on the hands and feet, known as reflex points. Each point relates to a specific area or system of the body, meaning that the feet are a map of the body. By applying direct pressure to these points, tension and blockages can be broken down, allowing for the free flow of energy to the body as a whole. The part of the body connected to the reflex point is also cleared, enabling people to gently and slowly heal themselves from any current or impending ailments.

Now, an internationally recognised complementary therapy, combining the traditional knowledge of ancient communities with modern research and technique, reflexology can assist in a range of problems from headaches and migraines, to digestive disorders, fertility issues, insomnia and stress.

Despite focusing on the hands and/or feet, reflexology treats the whole body. After each bespoke treatment, people feel ease, calm and peace as they find their own natural balance.

Prices for reflexology start at £50. Bedford Lodge Hotel is in the heart of Newmarket. The spa is housed in a beautiful Georgian property, which has been refurbished, including a spacious hydrotherapy pool, which earned it the Good Spa guide’s highest 5 Bubble rating.

Hintlesham Hall

Hintlesham Hall is fast making a name for itself as the place to go for the latest treatments and beauty trends.

Nestled alongside the grandeur of Hintlesham Hall, just outside of Ipswich, the spa, which was completely transformed last year by Hadleigh-based designer Lynda Keeble, is proving to be popular, not only with its guests, but also the community nearby.

Lynda who originally worked her expertise inside the historic house during the previous year, created a spacious spa using a calming colour palette in order to bring something unique and exciting to the area.

Spa manager Rebecka Smart and her team provide a wide range of spa treatments using products by Elemis, Mii Cosmetics and St Tropez, from many different facials, to nourishing body fixes, and massages to soothe the body and mind.

The spa also provides beauty treatments such as gel colour OPI manicures and pedicures, make-up application, tanning, brows and lash tinting, plus waxing and threading for both men and women.

Rebecka and her team have put together a list of spa packages which includes a range of pampering, deluxe treatments for couples, bridal parties and the use of the outdoor jacuzzi and patio.

The Swan at LavenhamThe Swan at Lavenham

A new treatment for the spa, is the Pure Bliss for Women, priced at £105 or £115. As part of the experience, guests are able to choose a facial and indulge for two hours with a complete face and body overhaul.

Rebecka said: “Guests have the chance to enjoy the best of both worlds, by combining a Swedish full body massage with a luxurious Elemis facial. This treatment improves body performance and leaves you feeling refreshed, revitalised and relaxed,” she added.

In 2017, Rebecka is hoping to arrange an Elemis skin lab event in spring/summer. The high tech kit helps the team look at clients skin in depth, and enables them to provide the best facial and skincare products.

Guests can really make the most of treatments at the spa, by taking advantage of its monthly offers, and signing up to the loyalty scheme, which Rebecka says, has been a huge success. The loyalty card offers discounts, not only in the spa area, but can also be used in the restaurant and for accommodation.
