Felixstowe: Walk like a pirate

The British Heart Foundation is holding a fundraising one mile walk along Felixstowe Promenade on Sunday July 28 at 11:30am. Pirates On The Prom will start at the Orford Road end of the prom and aims to raise awareness and raise vital funds for the Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.
There will be a treasure hunt, big raffle, craft fair and many local businesses getting involved for a fun day out by the sea.
Organiser Bex Sheppard wants to help the British Heart Foundation as their work and research contributed to saving her father’s life.
“In 1998, my dad, Andy, at the age of 47, suffered a serious heart attack from which he was brought back twice by the medics at Ipswich hospital. Then in 2012 he suffered an Angina attack after which he underwent a coronary angioplasty operation at Papworth hospital. They fitted Dad with a stent in his artery to help relieve the angina symptoms. We are so lucky he is still with us.
“This is why the British Heart Foundation is very important to me and my family. It’s through their important research that lives are being saved and they help make a real difference to those living with heart disease.
“We’ll have a lot of fun on the day while we’re raising awareness and money for a truly worthy cause – you’ll get a pirate hat and there’s also prizes for the best dressed pirates. So we hope to see lots of Jack Sparrow’s and Elizabeth Swann’s!”
The event is open to all ages and costs £5 to register (children free). To register :
