Kentwell Hall’s Dickensian Christmas festive family event is all set in 1869; the era of Charles Dickens who is mainly responsible for creating Christmas as we know it today.
During this wonderful Victorian Re-creation, you can enjoy this historic Tudor house beautifully decorated in traditional Victorian style whilst the family, household and villagers go about their daily lives preparing for the big day.
You will meet Father Christmas and Snowy owls, make traditional decorations and crafts and enjoy Magic shows. In the Victorian Hall & Tavern there will be music shows, entertainment and plays to watch. Mr Dickens will also be narrating “A Christmas Carol” assisted by Scrooge and other characters, plus illusions which bring the story of ghosts and spirits to life.
At the end of the day there are Carols by Candlelight around the enormous Christmas Tree in the stable yard. This is a day of activities and festivities that all the family will have fun at and can join in with.

Small and large baskets are planted in a variety of colours and prices, all of which are planted with their own quality plants.
They also grow thousands of perennials in two-litre pots which are 4 for £10 and two-litre shrubs are 3 for £12 so value for money is key. They also sell structural plants that are bought direct from a nursery in Tuscany in Italy so can pass the savings on to the customers. Woolpit Nurseries now sells over 400 trees every Christmas. Every tree is unwrapped and tied up in a dry lit greenhouse. You can come in and pick your tree from the 1st December and they will tag it and look after it until you are ready to collect for free. They also hand make all their wreaths with over 150 made each year. Again you can choose what you would like on it and they will keep it until you are ready. They also have many seasonal plants, Hyacinths, Poinsettias and many made up planters ready for Christmas gifts.
