Nominate your favourite Suffolk food and drink products, producers, chefs and restaurants in the Eat Suffolk Food & Drink Awards 2019
Every year, the Eat Suffolk Food and Drink Awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of Suffolk’s food and drink industry – the people and businesses that grow, rear, catch, prepare and cook some of the best, food and drink you’ll enjoy anywhere in the country.
In 2019 there will be 14 different categories of awards. Business and individuals can nominate themselves via the special awards website, where the public can also nominate their favourites. The closing date is February 17.
Judging is carried out by a panel of independent expert judges, specially selected for their knowledge and experience of the food and drink industry. Sponsors are also invited to help judge the final stages of the awards, as they bring their own skills, expertise and experience to what is a rigorous process.
From the initial ‘long list’ of entrants, the judges create a shortlist of finalists in each category which go forward to the final judging stage. This stage involves site visits ¬ some arranged, others unannounced as appropriate ¬ interviews and further research.
Then the judges decide the winners of each category, while the remaining finalists are awarded Highly Commended status. The results are announced in front of an audience of more than 200 people from all sectors of the industry at a celebratory dinner at The Hangar, Milsoms Kesgrave Hall on April 29.
