The third Bury St edmunds Food and Drink Festival gets underway this month with two of television’s best loved chefs in the line-up.
Lesley Waters, who has worked in television since 1989, will be at the festival on Sunday, August 24. Brian Turner, a TV regular from the mid 1990s, will be cooking in the festival’s Aga Rangemaster Theatre Kitchen on Monday, August 25.
Lesley, known for her Ready, Steady, Cook appearances will also be a judge when local accountants Jacobs Allen host their own cooking competition, ‘Cooking the Books!’.
Local businesses will also present from the display kitchen. On the Sunday you can see Carluccios, Maison Bleue and Pea Porridge. On the Monday it’s the turn of Palmers Coffee Shop, the Angel Hotel and Café Del Mar. The event wil close with a cocktails masterclass from Benson Blakes.
Throughout the two days there will be different offerings in the town centre including a farmers’ market on Angel Hill, cooking demonstrations in the Buttermarket and a chilli festival in Langton Place, complete with Mexican musicians. This year will also see the creation of a seaside scene in the arc shopping centre, complete with a beach.
Entry to the festival, including the display kitchen demonstrations, is free.
